Employers have always been required to ensure employees are aware of Fire Precautions at their place of work. Horizon Fire offers a choice of training courses, tailored to meet the majority of our customers’ needs.
You can be sure Horizon Fire will provide you with sound knowledge and effective Fire Safety practice. Horizon offer a range of training options for companies to ensure that employees understand Fire Prevention and are familiar with Fire Regulations. We will train your nominated staff members at your own premises and ensure the training program suits your companies requirements. Course material is tailored to individual company needs and fully bespoke courses are also offered to meet specific customer requirements.

This course covers everything you need to know about your role and responsibilities as a Fire Marshall. Once you have completed this course you will understand your responsibilities in the event of a fire andbe equipped to tackle a small fire using the appropriate extinguisher if it is safe to do so.
FOR EVERY COURSE EACH DELEGATE RECEIVES A CERTIFICATE OF ATTENDANCE - EACH COURSE CATERS FOR UP TO 15 DELEGATES
This course covers the key aspects of fire safety. After completing the course you will know the theory behind good fire safety and be equipped to tackle a small fire using the appropriate fire extinguisher, if it is safe to do so.
Horizon Fire also offer fire training at our site which can be booked as individual places. To take advantage of this please ask for details of available dates.
For premises that hold a Fire Certificate, details of staff training may be specified. Staff training may also be required under the Fire Precautions (Work Place) Regulations (1997, amended 1999). A Fire Risk Assessment will detail the exact training employers are obliged to provide by law.
In England and Wales, if you’re an employer, owner, landlord or occupier of business or other non-domestic premises, you’re responsible for fire safety and are known as the ‘responsible person’. (The rules are different in Scotland and Northern Ireland – please ring us for specific advice). As the ‘responsible person’ you are required by law (Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005) to: carry out and regularly review a fire risk assessment of the premises tell staff and/or their representatives about the risks you’ve identified put in place, and maintain, adequate and appropriate fire safety measures to remove or reduce the risk to life plan for an emergency provide staff information, fire safety instruction and training
You could get fined and/or go to prison if you don’t follow fire safety regulations. Minor penalties can be up to £5,000. Major penalties can have unlimited fines and up to 2 years in prison. If you need advice on your training responsibilities then please give us a call.
